dvd writer put into my computer, how do i burn dvds, like, from blockbuster. do i need a ripper? now remember i am the computer retard so easy on the lingo.

ok thank you i got a ripper, cause umm my daughter scratches my dvds and i want to make copies in case she does it, but i cant figure how to put it to a disc. it keeps saying the file is too big.i hate being retarted.

half of it is ripping. the other half is burning. you need to make sure you have decent burning software as well.

a ripper rips the content from a dvd and puts it either in memory or a file. a burner takes that file and puts it on another dvd via a dvd-burner. some things do both ripping and burning. some things don't.

are you sure you're using blank dvd's and not blank cd's?

yeah. cd's can only hold like 700mb. dvd's can hold like 2 gigs.
