I am already a vegetarian, and have been for a while. I have looked into veganism, by reading pamphlets and talking to my sister, who is vegan. I have learned a lot of disgusting things about dairy and animal products ( not just things like the percent of puss in milk, but also the gross mistreatment of the animals) , and I have made the desicion to become vegan. However, there are a few problems that stand in my way.

For instance, one of them being that I have a stomach ulcer . So there are a lot of things I can't eat anyway, even without being vegan. Many of them being things that are on a normal vegan diet. Also, I have a stepfather who tends to completley ignore anything that makes logical sense... a trend that my mother has now taken up. Even though my sister is vegan, and they are fine with that, they are so completley opposed to me becoming vegan. They insist that it will make more work for my mother . ( they are saying she will have to cook two seperate dinners) but the fact is, my family never eats together anyway, and I always cook my own meals. But they ignore that fact and continue to persist in their hate of my wanting to be vegan.

How can I convince my mom and stepdad to stop hassling me about becoming vegan, and what are some things I can eat that are vegan, but won't upset my stomach because of my ulcer?

yes you do, you just said it. They are assholes. Assholes want everyone and everything to emulate them, veganism doesnt emulate them.

Yeah. Exactly. They want me to be everything they are instead of my own person. They try to force religion on me, try to prevent me from being vegan, and basiclly want to take my identity from me.

Well anyway, I've decided that my parents can't MAKE me not be vegan.... what are they going to do, shove milk down my throat? So I've stopped eating any dairy or animal products, and told my parents that theres nothing they can do about it. They're very "upset" with me, but frankly, I don't give a damn.
