I'm not clear on this point. Growing up with Gore as VP, I always thought that the person holding the office was supposed to be a public figure. But I guess I was wrong; because, Cheney hasnt been seen much in public in the last 4 years, and the Bush White House is never wrong (if you think they are then youre a terrorist.) Now Edwards seems to be practicing for being a recluce too. Any insight from the elderly who can remember the office of VP? (pre-Gore) Has anybody heard from or seen Edwards since he was nominated?

cheney was pre 9/11. it was just post that he went underground and now is only around to take pot shots at the democrats that bush doesn't want to or would be inapproriate too.

edwards is out campaigning seperately from kerry and I hear sound bites either every day or every other day so I don't think he's that underground. I think it has more do with the fact that if he's not with Kerry he's not getting as much face time as Kerry is.

and it's sad that you can't remember pre gore. all those drugs.
bush sr was very public, and quayle was too public for his own good. potato.

edwards is in the news, and does campaign, in fact i heard his response to cheney's charge that if 'america makes the wrong choice...they could hit us again.' (the terrorists)

however, edwards is better looking than kerry, and more charismatic as well. sadly, the american public chooses their politicians on these qualities, rather than their leadership potential. so i think the seperate campaigning serves two purposes:

1. covering more ground

2. not upstaging kerry

now let's see some debates.

Dude, I was 9(and younger) until the last four months he was in the WH. Drugs had nothing to do with it, it just that I didnt give a shit about politics then.

Anybody willing to bet on the odds that Cheney says "fuck you," or a variation of it, again?
