xbox or ps2

i have a game cube and the software support for it here is ridiculously bad, i went looking for a new game today and i went to several game stores and not one had a game cube game i was remotely interested in, and then there was the fact that the game cube section was hugely dwarfed by the ps2 and xbox sections in every shop.

i decided i would like to trade my game cube in for an xbox or ps2 but i don't know which i will go for yet, does anyone have a preference to one of these machines or know anything that might sway my choice one way or the other?

I'd get a ps2 mostly because of a super huge game library.

yeah it would be handy as i am in need of a dvd player also, i know the xbox plays dvd's if you by the remote control as an extra.

I know a bunch of people that do this, plus it's really easy to turn it region free for movies.

yeah ps2 and xbox both are easy enough to play multi regions on.

it would really depend on the kind of games youre into. xbox has some good first person shooter games. but the paying extra for the remote is a crock.

at the moment i only have desert storm and splinter cell as they were bundled with it.

i'm pretty happy with the xbox. when my wife bought it the first thing out of my mouth was 'why didn't you get a ps2?' that said, i'm glad we got this... prince of persia: sands of time is like hitting a crack pipe. so addictive.

well i had a ps2 before so i thought i'd try out an xbox, it was a tough choice but i am liking the xbox so far, plus a load of friends have them so i'm gonna borrow all their games!

no. xbox has some cool games. like halo.
it might get teh transformers too
but damn is it fun to drive around and then instantly transform
