never heard of family circus, but regardless, we are talking about best writer, comic strips are a very narrow column of literature.

that makes no sense, you are trying to sell someone you don't think is the greatest writer as the greatest writer? And what example did you use?

ok lets take baby steps
theres this guy claiming Philip K Dick is the greatest writer
you and i both have never heard of him
you made your comment, i made mine
mine was implying since calvin and hobbes is my favorite literature he is my favorite writer. just because someone is my favorite does not make him the best. especially due to the fact there are many different genres.

Favourites has nothing to do with it, you don't think he is best, and don't try that condescending shit with me, it doesn't wash.

I took it how you put it. In your opinion bill waterson is not the best writer so why are we talking about him if neither one thinks he is the best writer. I don't think this thread is not about any old opinions, but if i'm wrong and it is then: I like geoff thompson, he's nowhere near the best writer.

Philip K Dick wrote a ton of books and short stories (many have been turned into movies).
Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep (became Blade Runner)
Minority Report
Paycheck
Flow My Tears The Policeman Said
The Faith of Our Fathers
We Can Remember It For You Wholesale (became Total Recall)
my favorite is The Faith of Our Fathers.
