I never said I hated the state, I said the town/ area. I live about an hour and a half west of Chicago.

I definitely know how you feel. For the most part I feel like an outsider regardless of who I'm around. You get used to it. There's a lot to be said about feeling comfortable about yourself and who you are separate and apart from other people.

I hate feeling awesome for a while and then falling completely apart.
