It had a much darker feel than the original and was not nearly as campy, but the plot stayed very much the same (with the exception of a few liberties) and they used a lot of the same script/dialogue.

Ladies and gentlemen, I finally watched A Christmas Story.
I watched "8 Dates" last night with my gf. Really good movie. Similar to "new york i love you". And this morning I saw (finaly) "It's all gone Pete Tong" a movie about a deaf DJ.
had my mom watch kung fu hustle and she loved it.
finally watched the scott pilgrim movie. the ending kinda sucked and the alternative ending really sucked. the books ending was better.
Ten minutes into that movie, I was giddy and declaring it my favorite. It combines all of my favorite things: nerd love, music, video games, cheesey humor, hot girls w/multi-colored hair, and comic books. I was hoping to get the comics for Christmas, but alas, it looks like I will have to treat myself to the originals.
i got em when i was in the states, they were pretty good.
you're in time to get the boxed edition though

watched big fan this week. it was really good. wouldn't call it a comedy though. awkward and depressing, yes, but not really funny.
Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. What a title.. but I enjoyed it!
I watched super 8, i liked it and it reminded me of the goonies a bit.
Really? I didn't like super 8 at all. But I am sure a part of that is the fact I hate JJ Abrams (Star Trek excluded) so I went into the movie with a bit of a bias.
I saw Conan last week. It was awesome! I mean it was really bad and corny, but I expected it to be. So knowing what I was in for I actually really enjoyed it.
I've been hitting the really cheesy horror movies pretty hard recently.
one of the ones that i love is dark floors
its the movie of the Finnish band Lordi. which i think just makes it much much better
Straw Dogs (the original one) and Rain Man.
i saw Return of the Living Dead last week, it was hlarious and pretty fun. i loved the design of the first zombie
braaaains
The Amazing Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield did a fantastic job in that role.
Office Space.
I love this movie.
I watched serenity last night, haven't seen it in ages, its still awesome.
I can't understand for the life of me why in Mission Impossible 4 half of the Russians speak true Russian, like agent Sidorov who was chasing agent Hunt, and the other half don't. I liked the flick, though.
It is! I saw it just once years ago, video/sound was average quality and the film dubbed in Russian (which usually means overall crappy experience). So, after seeing that post of yours I thought why not see it again.
It looks to me a lot like a crossover between Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Love the humor in this film. And it's a pity there's just one film. They should've made more!
Yes, its awesome
extended version of the original girl with the dragon tattoo. really good, really brutal movie.
The Avengers! I laughed a lot.
and The Five-Year Engagement... I kinda liked it too.
I watched Seven Pounds last evening. Kinda sad.
