I watched this the other night, everyone else hated it so much so that 2 of them walked out. I laughed though.

I just saw Zombieland and The Invention of Lying at the second-run theater. Both were great.
I was actually wondering about that, I've read some pretty bad reviews on The Invention of Lying. Something about their compulsion to tell the truth shouldn't require them tell everything. If this makes sense I'm specifically trying to be vague just in case, but I'm just worried about it being pure exposition which I don't think I could put up with tbh. Maybe you could enlighten me a bit on what it was like cause I was thinking about going to the second-run theatre here and don't want to waste my money. :D
When it comes to films like The Invention of Lying, I try not to take it too seriously. Obviously the dialogue was written for the humor of telling every little bit of truth and not holding back anything. I've met people like this, so I found it personally funny because I could relate. It played a lot on the idea that people tell themselves lies to comfort those around them. Depending on the price of your second-run theater, you may want to wait until it comes out on DVD.
i loved that movie. Ricky Gervais always brings the goods.
Law Abiding Citizen was quite good. I really liked it.
last night i watched the box. I think it places it got to being a little ridiculous but it managed to hold it together enough for me not to say it was awful but still i wouldn't say it was great. I did enjoy the 1970's setting, i think it worked well, it was quite enthralling visually in my opinion but just a bit patchy and forced in places with the story. Not a bad concept of a story though, it does make me a little more curious about the appeal of his other work...donnie darko. Maybe i should have put this in the bad movie thread...its really right on the cusp for me.
P.S. I Love You
Nothing special probably, I just have this huge love for romantic comedies, or a combination of a comedy and drama. I like pretty much every movie there is out there like The Proposal, The Ugly Truth, Brides Wars, Ghosts Of Girfriends Past etc.
Oh and I love long movies. 2+ hours is something I'm really into and this is that kind of movie.
Paranormal Activity.
I still can't decide if it was good or bad. I mean I liked it alot throughout, but the ending maybe just ruined the whole movie. I haven't decided yet.
It is scary in ways as it's shot first person and seems more "real". I thought the acting was awesome and would recommend people check the movie out.
Been reading up, there was a main original and alternate ending. The other one sounds better, the ending I seen was a bit too Hollywood cliff hanger style and the other one sounds like it would have been better. But I am now reading of another alternate ending that sounds even better than both!
City of God
Memento
City Of Ember with Bill Murray, enjoyed it very very much.
