nah, they would have just told me to do what I was doing. now it's been long enough to know that something is actually wrong.

I hate my sunburn.
I hate when a bolt snaps off and you're stuck with no way to remove it. I was trying to pull a steering wheel off a car at the salvage yard and one of the bolts for the steering wheel snapped off in the steering wheel. The hell with it. The plastic outer piece broke off to begin with when it should have popped off but I was just going to super glue it back until the bolt snapped off. I guess that steering wheel wasn't meant for me. But still... very aggravating!
I hate that it is my last month in this awful apartment building and they serve me with an early eviction notice notice if I don't pay my rent this month. Considering this is the last month of my lease, I paid my rent a year ago. I even told my super in April that I would not be renewing my lease, but apparently he forgot so now I have to call the head office of the stupid management company to tell them that I don't owe them anything and I am leaving at the end of the month.
I also hate that there is not a single day in the 5 day weather forcast for this week that is going to be any cooler than 30 degrees (celsius). Living in an unairconditioned apartment is not fun right now.
Oh I am fucked. The one sentence in the second last clause on the 7th page of my lease says they need 60 days written notice. My anger comes from the fact I have never lived in an apartment building before so I didnt know that, and instead of the super telling me that when I gave him verbal notice, he just said "thats fine" instead of telling me to take the 2 mins it would have required to write something up. Head office said that if I got him to to call them and inform them that I told him then it would be fine, but we are on our 4th super of the year, so it isn't even the same guy.
And it is even more annoying because on the front page of the lease it clearly states that "the tenant will occupy the premises from August 1st, 2010 to july 31, 2011" but apparently the one sentence in the end of the lease overrides that. It is just annoying.
So it is enitrely my fault for not knowing it had to be written, but I just feel like I was taken advantage it by a dumbass super. But since I didn't pay july rent, (because I thought it was covered by my last month) the notice I got said that I can move out by the 26th. So i will probably just do that because I am actually unable to come up with 2 more months rent. It will show up on my rental record as an eviction, but it is really my only option.
The written notice should only be necessary for terminating early. If the lease is for a set amount of time and the lease isn't set to automatically renew, then you shouldn't have to tell them you're going to continue. If you prepaid for 12 months, why are they having to pay more?
That was exactly my thinking, but I have spent all day looking at the landlord/tenant act in Ontario and apparently even if it is a fixed term lease they still require 60 days written notice. When the lease expires July 31st, my lease doesn't automatically renew but it becomes a month by month lease in which I need to give 60 days notice to terminate. It is ridiculous.
yeah it is understandable, but I just wish that when I thought I was giving my landlord 90 days notice he could have just said "I need something in writing" and this whole thing would have been avoided. I should have just lied and said I did give it in writing and they lost it, haha.
i really, really really really hate my scanner
I hate that I don't have air conditioning and today is supposed to be the hottest day ever recorded in Ontario. 35 degrees BEFORE accounting for humidity.
not a giant fan of the 103 degree heat right now.
yeah it apparently got up to 105 today.
I hate moving. I am glad to be done with this stupid rental company, but the process of moving is just a pain in the ass, especially when I live on the 16th floor.
I'm not very happy with my bank account right now.
I hate that my central ac has quit again today, in a different way. I paid $223 last month to have it serviced (freon put in, outside unit cleaned) and tonight I came home to find the outside unit not working. I pressed in the reset button on the side of it, it came on but the fan is barely moving so I killed the power to it.
Thank goodness I have a 10k btu window ac from when I used to rent a house with no shade and only 1 half working window ac, so I won't be suffering too much... except when i go to the other 2/3 of the house i have sectioned off from the window ac. but 1/3 i usually keep closed off anyway. But the small bathroom, my bedroom and kitchen i keep cool usually. Well, now they aren't.
not really enjoying natural disasters week.
being in a "good cop, bad cop" job interview. It's just strange...
I hate bringing work home with me, mentally.
I hate hospitals, cancer and bronchitis. A few weeks ago my grandpa went in for surgery to remove a tumour from his breast. Today he was rushed to the hospital because he collapsed and had no idea where he was or what his name even was. I just got home after 12 hours in the hospital with him. Luckily it turns out this was unrelated to the cancer or the surgery and he has bronchitis and was sent home (at 4 in the morning) and just needs to take some anti-biotics.
My poster is not hanging good, but I'm too lazy to correct it.
