Do any of you celebrate the day you decided to become straightedge?
Likwise I don't even know an exact date that I decided to become straight edge, you could say every day I celebrate being straight edge :P
Not really, I just think about that day and remember it's good times.
Yeah, same here. I didn't remember until my sister said that she was going through her journal and came across an entry about that day. My friend said I should have an IBC 40oz. like "the old days" to celebrate. :D
It's cool your sister found the date for you! All I know was for me it was right around Christmas/New years and every one thought I was nuts
Happy Edge Day to me, Happy Edge Day to me....15 years! And it just so happens that IBC rootbeer was on sale at the store today. Any way....see ya! I'm going skating.
that awesome, i wish i could remember when i claimed again or the first time. Congrats!
Happy edge day Carla! 15 years is some achievement, it's also good to remember the day too! I can't celebrate my own edge day, I can't quite remember when it was now after only about 18 months, I'll have to make do celebrating my actual birthday instead today. :P
Happy Birthday Adam! My birthday is coming up soon and I have no idea how we'll be celebrating it.
Like a said, my little sister found the date in her journal. I knew it was a few weeks after I completed my rehab program. I went to a show in the park and met my now-mentor. He has an X tattooed on his hand (plus some other interesting tattoos; see thread 'XVX from the dairy state') and told me all about straightedge. Honestly, he was the one person that helped me stay clean since all of my previous friends were still into drugs and even my friends that weren't doing drugs at the time were still open to the idea of experimenting and later did while in college. He introduced me to some positive people that are still in my life to this day.
Thank you very much Carla! Suppose that's where a journal comes in handy, and it's very good to have someone like that who can really help you and keep you going along that straight road. I'm fortunate enough right now to have people around me who are respectful and understanding of me not wanting to drink etc. even if they do!
