i think JJ Abrams (http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/filmblog/2013/jan/25/jj-abrams-perfect-choice-star-wars) could make it work but i wonder if it upsets star trek fans at all?

it's possible. It all depends on if he gets creative control and if lucas can really let go. It also depends on if disney will let the films not be "cute" no ewoks, no jar jar like characters.

I think another jar jar or ewok incident would be a huge mistake and a potential disenchantment of many fans, there are only so many nails in coffins fans will take!

i've never seen anything by abrams. i did hear some people complaining about lens flare many times in the star trek movie.
i'm kinda excited for the new ones for some reason, maybe because lucas may not be involved. and i'm not even into spacey sci-fi stuff
