Yeah, Belgium is a master in this sport. Today is the last ride of the world cup and again, there's will be 3 Belgians on the stage. It's pretty neat to see, more exciting than cycling. Contests only take 1 hour and there's a lot of stuff happening on the course itself, pretty rough.

There were some Belgian teams at Cross Vegas last September, and it seems like Cross Vegas could be a World Cup race next season! Providence wants to hold a World Cup race in the season after that.

The UCI and the organizers of the main ranking tournaments (Superprestige and Bpost Bank Trophee) sat together two weeks ago, talking about making cyclocross more international. The idea is to start next season in the States with two weeks of racing, so that each rank can do a race in the States.
The good thing about this is that every race is within this period so that riders only have to face jetlag once. The downside is that it will cost a lot of money to travel with all these guys, bicycles and stuff... I'm afraid only the bigger teams can do the trip.

Anyway, internationalizing is starting to happen, and USA is really digging it. Let's hope it will work, and that they can take this sport to the Olympics.

So... Czech Republic got the gold medal. Belgium silver and bronze... it stings a little bit.
