I am happy with the way it played out. Harper is a little bit more conservative than I tend to like, but I hate Michael Ignatieff, and Jack Layton spent the entire campaign talking out of his ass and making promises nobody could keep. I am also tired of wasting 300 million dollars every 2 years on elections, so at least with a majority government we will have some stability. I just hope it doesn't become "what Harper says goes" for the next 4 years...

this was the biggest fear communicated to me by my friend up at the U of T.

I think they were the best option in this election and even I am scared to death this might happen. Party discipline in Canadian politics is unreal and is my biggest problem with the way the system is set up. And Harper has a bit of a reputation as a "dictator" within the party so I am a little anxious about how things will work with a majority government.
