POWER 7" to be released on Mind Melt!
I don't think a lot of people have heard but Power is in the studio recording for a new 7" that we will be releasing right here at Mind Melt. The demo they released earlier this year will be on there (but re-recorded) and it will feature 3 new songs. This will be out in time for their Fall Tour. Make sure you keep your eye out for this band in your town, and pick up the 7" when you can. We don't know if we will be doing pre-orders for this or not yet but you can be sure that if you fallow us on here you will know what we end up deciding.

BREAKING GROUND//OUT OF REACH NW WEEKEND
So first things first. This weekend Breaking Ground played 4 shows with Out of Reach. For those of you that don't know I (Jpeg) play guitar in Breaking Ground. Here is a breakdown of how the shows went from my point of view.

June 18th @ The Black Lake Grange (Olympia, WA) w/ A Loss For Words, This Time Next Year, Transit, Second to Last, Out of Reach, To New Beginnings, and Breaking Ground.
This show was a great way to start the weekend. Not a huge turnout by any means but good vibes the whole time pretty much. Got to hang out with some friends which is always good, and all the bands had fun. Not much to really say about this show.

June 19th @ The Theler Center (Belfair, WA) w/ This Time Next Year, Second to Last, Out of Reach, The Coldfront, Breaking Ground, To New Beginnings, and Marine View Drive.
Belfair is one of my favorite places to play. Every time I play here our set gets wilder and wilder. Belfair is a tiny town full of kids looking for something to do and when a show happens the kids show their appreciation. Unfortunately the kids seem to be more into Deathcore than Hardcore but I think if more Hardcore bands would play here regularly they would catch on. Maybe that is just me hoping though...

June 20th @ The AFU Hall (Bremerton, WA) w/ Bad Antics, Breaking Ground, Code x Red (Out of Reach side band), Mondo Aggro, and Mouth.
Bremerton used to be the go to city for shows in my eyes. That was like 3 or 4 years ago though. This show had a pretty small turn out but playing and hanging with friends is always fun regardless. This was my first time seeing Code x Red and I was stoked on it. Simple and heavy are the only ways I can really describe this band. I would be Interested in hearing this recorded and reading the lyrics. None of the other bands really piqued my interest but you should check them out for yourself and make your own opinion.

June 21st @ El Charro (Moses Lake, WA) w/ Out of Reach, Breaking Ground, Centuries, and Close at Hand.
Shows like this one always remind why I got into hardcore, and why I stay in it. The "venue" was an abandoned Mexican restaurant that had been gutted. There was a closed bakery next door that we got to hang out in and got to eat tons of food from. This place will only be around until the end of summer so you should really hit it up while you can if you are in a band, and if you aren't you should try to find your way there when a band you dig plays there. There was 50+ kids and everyone of them was stoked to be there. Maybe it is because I am from a small town but the hardcore scenes in small towns are always my favorite to experience. Make sure you check out Centuries. They are the locals here and they are great guys. they are recording new songs this summer.
