drug use finally seems to be catching up to some people. It was really weird. In the 80s and through about the mid 90s people who did a lot of drugs would OD and die. Then it pretty much stopped. Kids for the most part would see people doing all kinds of shit but never the negative repercussions. I honestly think it's part of the main reason why cocaine and heroin use is on the way up again after years and years of decrease. People don't think it's that dangerous anymore.

Never thought of that Dusty, but now you mention it.. I guess you're right. What about all the other shit like meth etc, is it the same (I mean that it's getting 'popular') ?

Ugh. I just got an email from our campus officer about a new drug that's legal here in the US: Diamond Spice or Brown Diamond. It's basically gives people the same high as smoking marijuana at first, but with the added bonus of increased heart rate, delusions, and panic attacks (very similiar effects as that of meth).

I think meth has become so popular because it's cheap and easy to make. From what I've read and heard from people, if it's laced in pot, it provides a layered effect of starting really mellow, then getting a burst of speed. So people will smoke it, go to sleep and wake up with a ton of energy to make it through the day. It's a real problem in Apache Junction, AZ.

Meth...huge issue. My husband calls it natural selection.. The problem with that is the 12 yr old who didn't have anyone to tell them any better. I have an issue with it too, because who knows where it is being "brewed" and if your next door neighbor's house blows up because of it...they take you and your family out with them. There were some powerful explosions in AK.

Here in ID there are huge billboard's, TV campaign, and radio ads that are funded by the state showing the repercussions from meth (skin bumps, teeth falling out) I see them on the hwy everyday. Its scare tactics but it seems to be working for them.

The rates have dropped but they are still some of the highest in the nation. Here the average kid starts when they are 15 or younger... its made in homes that have to be sealed as chemical zones when they are discovered, and is more addictive than some designer drugs. One time, and they are gone. From Idaho to AZ, straight down the country is where its taken hold the strongest.

I would love to live in Seattle where the state's PSA commercials are "remember to wear your bike helmet." Ah...paradise.

AGREED! I mean they are doing some positive work, but how did it come to this?! I would much rather see Smoky the Bear than these. "Only YOU can prevent forest fires." where did that go to? We still have those.
