How do you all know what's going on in your scene? What are the zines, websites, and community centers available to you locally?

Phoenix is surprisingly not very unified. There is plenty going on, but it's all very fractured. I think this has a lot to do with the urban sprawl and the fact that the majority of the scene revolves around the universities. Thus, people are always coming and going. The major players in the scene are found on azpunk.com

There's nothing that really goes on where I actually live, but I'm not too far from a few different cities. Unfortunately, I haven't been to much lately. I can go on message boards and find out who hates who or what the cool band is right now, but I've lost interest in local politics. I feel like an old lady. Most of the bands I love/loved have broken up, so I feel like things are kind of lacking right now.

There is nothing goes on here, so much that when I done my zine it featured Euro bands mostly and no local bands at all. And even better, there were barely 2 people interested in the zine from Scotland, all the kids interested were from the likes of Belgium, Portugal, Holland etc.

Scotland sucks, majorly. But there are a few bands kicking around now so we will see if it keeps getting better.

Sad. Even the Zine Wiki page only lists three submissions: 2 out of three defunct.

Maybe this would be useful: http://www.indymediascotland.org/
And this was intersting: http://xerographydebt.blogspot.com/2009/02/national-library-of-scotland-looking.html

Time to move man!

Yeah, my zine is too cool to be featured in any of that stuff I guess.... :(

I hope to move one day.

I used to find out from my local indie record shop, I was lucky enough to have Out of Step Records when I lived in Yorkshire, and a hardcore kid running another when I lived in Birmingham.

DC was harder, there was (maybe still is) a board for shows etc, but the people on there were mostly ass holes which kinda turned me off.

From people involved, the city is small and everyone knows everyone so the news spread fast and reach almost everyone. Moreover guys create events entries on В Контакте (think Russian speaking Facebook) and send out invitations. That makes it even more convenient and easier not to miss a show or whatever.

Is your zine ever printed? Or has it been?

I'm trying to find the local scene here.
Seriously, half the people at my school have never even heard of Straight Edge.
It's sad really, especially 'cause the press named my school "Heroin High"
After that Gilbert was named one of the safest cities in Arizona, hahaha.
I'm not saying Gilbert's hardcore or anything, hell it's full of pussies and wannabe gang bangers, but we were named that 2 days after a kidnapping and a couple days before a shooting.
The local scene here is proving to be kinda hard to find. :/

I had it all ready to be printed then realised how much it costs to have printed. And then I put 2 and 2 together to realise that nobody would buy it and I would be left major out of pocket, so I ended up making .jpg images of all my work and hosted it all on a blog instead.

It's because it is more awesome than the list will allow.
