Has anyone read Dr. McDougall's books on health and diet? I recentally picked up The McDougall Program for Maximum Weight Loss. It's pretty hardcore; a vegan diet without soy, oils, and nuts. So that leaves fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, and beans. I'm finding it difficult to cook without oil, but otherwise it's certainly feasible.

so it's one little step from fruitarianism? well, hardcore or not, that should be pretty healthy...
