im 16.. i dont drink, do drugs, or have sex..im a vegeatarian <yes.. i kno u dont have 2 be vege/vegan 2 be sXe> , i know how sXe started & the same w/ the X's & i listen 2 hardcore music.. BUT i havnt gone to any shows because every time there was 1 near where i live i was normally grounded or i was already busy... like am i not sXe until i go 2 a show or something? cuz if so that fricken suxs...

no, it doesn't really work like that. the part about going to shows is to illustrate that being straight edge involves active participation in what's going and part of that involves going to shows. There are certain aspects of straight edge that you can't understand without being a part of it, and that's what the statement on the front of the site is actually talking about.

The thing is you are a part of the hardcore, scene, even if it's just on a level of supporting the bands throug buying records.
