yeah and who SPECIFICALLY is getting rich off of edge bands and edge kids? You do
realize that most shows aren't in big venues. Most are and have been in converted spaces
since there isn't a need to sell alcohol most clubs don't really want or care about edge
shows. The marketing of straight edge is exploiting it in the terms you are trying to
use. What is clear to me is that you shot your mouth off on a topic you have a very
shallow understanding of. You talk about people marketing straight edge ok, who are
those people, specifically? Who is profiting, specifically? Please try and form a solid,
informed and cohesive argument.
Robert O'Neill wrote:

never mentioned the exploitation of straight edge. It is you and people like ou who are
being exploited by the marketing of straight edge. Please try to keep up.

They're still being funded. They still have to get funding from somewhere. That's
the harsh reality of this world, everything has a cost associated with it. I
implore people to help support people and organizations that support straight
edge. now how this somehow is unique to straight edge, I'm not quite sure. If you
want something to survive you have to support it, and that support always means
financially, be it a library, a sports club, a knitting circle, they all have
costs associated with it and if it costs the people running them too much, guess
what happens? They go away. Now, where are you examples of people getting rich
off of straight edge? Where is this profit you're talking about?

Indeed but taxes are indiscriminate and revnue for man online
communities is usually from selling advertising space and not users. To
go back to your website ou implore people to buy merchandise and to
attend shows to be trult straight edge. From what I can see this is a
big part of straight edge and profit is being made by the people
selling tickets and t-shirts to you. In effect its a catch all for a
sub section of youth culture who have been failed to be picked up by
the mainstream in order to cream profit. In that effect our speech was
very like the buy nike and you'll be as good as Thierry Henry or buy
coke and the world smiles like you, or dress like a clown and take
drugs and women will sleep with you. Your message is just slightly
different. Oh and if your the person imploring people to buy things and
you ain't the one making profit from it that means you're just shilling
for someone else.

libraries are funded by taxes and donations. online communities are funded by
ad revenue. sports teams usually have fees associated with them.

Now how is anyone making a profit off of straight edge and how is it a
marketing tool at all like nike or coke or snoop?

Robert O'Neill wrote:

Not true I am a part of many things I do nothing to fund ie a library,

impressionable kids, just like Nike, Coke and Snoop Dogg do.

sure thing sparky, except that to be apart of something and support it, you
do actually have to help fund it, that goes for pretty much everything in
this world. People aren't going to make music if it puts them in debt. Now
how this somehow relates to nike, coke or snoop, I'm not quite sure, but you
appear to be a brilliant mind so please, enlighten me.
