yeah... i knew when posting it that you'd probably be the only other person on here that could appriciate it.

i find it especially funny because right after lookinglasself came out my ex girlfriend did a show and she gave more than just the door money to daryl the singer.

hard to believe that was damn near 10 years ago.

so many rumors about so many girls and snapcase. some true, some not. Back then we used to have shows at a house that got named the Happy Hardcore House and a girl ran it and every time a band came through another rumor would come right after that she slept with some of the guys.

hahaha... oh, i remember the elena crushes very well. i remember when that demo came out and it was so strange to hear a female fronted hardcore band. we were all speculating about what she looked like. i guess the first time i saw her was at this show at middlesex county college in 1993...she had a big x on her hand and there were SO many guys sweating her. i guess ashes held my interest until the full length came out and that didn't do too much for me.

it is funny to think back to seeing all these new jersey boys standing up next to the stage with stars in their eyes.

I was like 15-16 and had no chance whatsoever, but was totally all puppy dog eye'd at her. I swear there was cult here in dc at the time for her. EVERY guy sweated her.

Infect are an all girl sxe band from Brazil, I forgot about them, still had the hardest time tracking their stuff down, but I think they have a new one out, a split with another all girl band called the wreckers.

everything that came out of umea was mediocre rehashes. refused were good, but not quite gods of hardcore. seriously, start talking about how great sportswear was.

amazing hardcore: uniform choice. gorilla biscuits, the first few shai hulud records, embrace, token entry, chorus of disapproval, bad brains, by the grace of god, early husker du, prepower ssd, swiz, manliftingbanner, 4 walls falling.

all the bands you mentioned are cool, I just personally like the swedish stuff, I feel sweden has it's own style, you can argue with me till the day you die, music is all personal and individual, I feel sweden has kept the political aspect that few hardcore bands of today still posses, and the screams are incredible, no one can scream like Dennis from refused, and jeff from poison the well is from sweden, you can't learn to scream like that in america

it's style is rehash of american hardcore. most of it is the most generic hardcore ever made. how did sweden as a whole keep the political aspect when most bands weren't political and has had massive gaps between new bands?

also trying to use poison the well to illustrate any point is a sure way to prove that you're wrong.
